Lititz Youth Soccer Club Update: Formation of 2020-21 Travel Teams
We hope you and your families are well in these challenging times. We are writing to provide you with updated information regarding the selection process for the 2020-21 LYSC travel teams. The club has decided that because of the COVID-19 situation, holding traditional tryouts is not feasible this year. There is simply too much uncertainty regarding when soccer activities will be permitted. Instead, as a club, we will be offering roster spots to current LYSC travel players on their current teams. We will then hold talent ID sessions, tentatively scheduled for the weekend of June 27 or July 18 (as circumstances permit) to fill out rosters as needed and to form new teams as warranted.
We know this is a departure from past practice, and that the policy change presents some challenges, but given the circumstances, we have concluded that this is our best option. This policy is the best way to provide some certainty now for our current travel players regarding next season, while also providing an avenue for new players to join the club (or for LYSC recreational players to transition to travel soccer).
Current LYSC players will be hearing from their coaches in the next few days. We will also be announcing additional information in the next few days for players interested in joining a LYSC travel team.
