LYSC Families,
Over the past several days the LYSC Board has been actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation. As a member organization of Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA) we place significant weight on the guidance it provides on critical issues. Within the past 48 hours EPYSA has postponed the training and competition programs it directly administers and suggests that member organizations follow the closure protocols utilized by the relevant local school district. In addition, US Youth Soccer announced today that their league programs and activities are suspended through April 15. The announcements from both organizations are linked below:

As most of you know by now, Governor Wolf has closed all Pennsylvania schools until March 30. In light of this development, and consistent with the guidance provided by EPYSA, LYSC will likewise postpone all soccer activities until at least March 30. This means there will be no practices or games until at least March 30.
Because we remain hopeful that the spring season will commence in April, our field installation/maintenance day is still on tomorrow as scheduled. If you are willing and able to assist in this task, please report to Gerhart Field tomorrow at 8:00 AM.
The situation we are dealing with is unprecedented. Developments are occurring rapidly, and the situation is fluid. The paramount concern is the safety of the players, coaches, and the wider community. We remain hopeful that the spring season will be delayed, not canceled. As the situation continues to progress and further information is made available from the Warwick School District, the Pennsylvania government, EPSYA and other stakeholders, we will reassess and provide further direction on the spring season.
We know that this is a stressful time given the significant uncertainty prevailing about how the next few weeks will develop, and we commit to providing you with timely information as we receive it. We are all in this together.
Thank you,
LYSC Board
